OGS's Proposed Guidelines for Green Products

The EPA has some information on Green Cleaning products at this link.

OGS has information on purchasing Green Cleaning products.

What is a "green product"?  Is it natural, recycled, biodegradable, non-toxic, hypo-allergenic, etc.  The Consumers Union has a good website to sort out what these terms mean on a product label

Another factor a school may wish to consider with purchasing decisions is the New York State Department of Labor's Public Employee Safety and Health regulations (12 NYCRR Part 820) was revised last November.  Public Employers in New York State must keep a record of all employees exposed to subpart Z chemicals, and which employees were exposed to which chemicals.

For a list of OSHA's subpart Z chemicals use this link.

For questions and answers about this Department of Labor requirement, use this link.
