Urinal Puck Ban

Certain deodorizers for urinals have banned for use in schools.  The ban is effective on November 1, 2004 for urinal cakes that contain para- dichlorobenzene, a suspect carcinogen.

Para-dichlorobenzene is a chemical commonly used in moth balls. 

To identify some of them, I searched our Material Safety Data Sheet database.  The urinal cakes that contain para-dichlororbenzene are listed below. If you bowl deordorant is not listed, it may still be a banned product.  Check with the manufacturer.
